The world’s most ambitious regenerative tourism destination.
The world’s most ambitious regenerative tourism destination.
Overview
The destination welcomed its first guests in 2023 with the opening of Six Senses Southern Dunes. This was followed in 2024 by The St. Regis Red Sea Resort and Nujuma, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, alongside the launch of Turtle Bay Hotel – a self-operated property serving staff and business visitors.
Later in 2024, Red Sea Global introduced its first owned and operated resorts with the opening of Shebara and Desert Rock, each offering distinctive, design-led experiences shaped by their natural surroundings.
In 2025, the destination entered a new phase with the opening of Shura Island, its first three resorts, and the Shura Links Golf Course.
In early 2026, the destination expanded its offering with the launch of Adrena – an adventure and entertainment district.
More resorts, experiences, and residential communities will continue to open through 2026 and beyond, further establishing The Red Sea as a living model of regenerative tourism in action.
From Pristine Nature to the Frontiers of Regeneration
Sustainability & Regeneration
The Red Sea goes beyond sustainability to actively restore and enhance natural ecosystems. Development is limited to less than 1% of the destination’s total area, and visitor numbers are capped at 1 million per year to protect its biodiversity.
Through renewable energy, zero-waste initiatives, and large-scale coral and mangrove restoration, The Red Sea demonstrates how tourism can become a force for regeneration, leaving nature better than we found it.
